Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss latest damage assessment reports in the fields of health, housing, education and infrastructure.

Those reports were based on surveys conducted by government authorities and donor agencies.

ERRA chairman Lieutenant General Muhammad Zubair presented preliminary plans for rebuilding and reconstruction of affected areas at the meeting held at Prime Minister house. Extensive discussions were held on various aspects of plans.

It was decided further meetings would also be held on the subject. These plans will be finalised by the second week of November and presented before the donors meeting on November 19.

The Prime Minister directed all participants to complete their share of work as soon as possible for early rehabilitation of earthquake-affected areas and resumption of normal life there.
